Preparation & Pre-Flight Check

So the setup works the first time around.

Before installing Kurex AI you should bring your system into a clean state. The points below are not recommendations, they are requirements, and every single one has already caused dozens of support tickets.

System Requirements

  • Antivirus fully disabled, Defender, third-party tools, everything. Active protection blocks Kurex components and can abort the installation mid-way.
  • Current Nvidia driver, not the absolute latest, but a stable current Game Ready or Studio driver.
  • WinRAR or 7-Zip installed, so you can unpack archives.
  • Games and anti-cheats closed, Vanguard, EAC, BattlEye must not run before or during the installation.

In-game basics to set now

  • Play at 1920 × 1080, higher resolutions waste performance on image processing.
  • Set in-game graphics to low or the performance preset.
  • Disable mouse acceleration in Windows completely.
  • Turn off hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling in Windows graphics settings.
  • Always drag Kurex AI onto the main monitor.
Mandatory step

Really close all games and anti-cheats before the setup. Right after the installation: reboot before opening Kurex for the first time.

Install Required Software

Three components without which Kurex AI won't start.

In the background Kurex AI uses CUDA, DirectX and the Visual C++ Runtime. All three must be set up cleanly before the actual installation.

  1. CUDA Toolkit 12.8

    Download the installer directly from Nvidia. Pick Windows 10 or Windows 11 as the target, matching your system. An express install is foolproof.

  2. DirectX End-User Runtimes

    The official Microsoft package. The important parts are older D3D libraries that many games and capture pipelines still need.

  3. Visual C++ Redistributables

    Install the current x64 version. Add x86 if needed. Without this runtime typical DLLs like vcruntime140.dll or msvcp140.dll are missing.

Set Up CUDA Libraries

Copy the extra DLLs into the CUDA bin folder.

For the inference engine Kurex AI needs a few extra CUDA libraries that don't ship with the toolkit by default. They are provided as a ZIP and must land in exactly the right place.

  1. Download the ZIP

    Grab the CUDA files archive from the Discord customer area.

  2. Right-click the archive → "Extract all"

    Important: don't just open it, actually extract it.

  3. Set the destination folder

    Use this path as the extraction target:

    >C:\Program Files\NVIDIA GPU Computing Toolkit\CUDA\v12.8\bin
  4. Verify

    At the end, all .dll files must sit directly inside the bin folder, not in an extra subfolder named after the archive.

Common mistake

If Kurex later fails with "opencv_world*.dll not found" or similar DLL errors, this step almost always wasn't done cleanly.

Create the Kurex Working Folder

A single folder for the loader, module files and configs.

To keep things tidy you create a dedicated folder for the Kurex loader, all required files and your configurations.

  1. Download three base files

    From the customer Discord you get the base package, an additional update file and one extra file.

  2. Download required DLLs

    Grab the Kurex DLL package and keep the .dll files ready — they go into the same Kurex folder as the loader and the other setup files.

  3. Create a new folder on the desktop

    Name it e.g. Kurex and copy all base files and DLLs into it.

  4. Optional cleanup

    You can delete hidapi.dll if you are not using an Arduino with Hidra firmware, otherwise leave it.

  5. Create a "configs" subfolder

    Inside your Kurex folder, create another folder with the exact name configs. Saved setups will live there later.

06 Kmbox Net Recommended for stable 2-PC setups over Ethernet.

Best for

Dual-PC setups where Kurex AI runs on a separate PC and input is passed over the network.

You need

  • Kmbox Net
  • Ethernet connection
  • Port, UUID and IP from the Kmbox display
  • VID/PID of your mouse

Best for

Single-PC setups where you want a simple external mouse pipe-through.

Setups where you want to separate multiple USB paths cleanly but still switch between PC and console.

Best for

Console setups where mouse/keyboard and a controller share XIM Matrix or Zen.

2-PC and console setups where Kurex AI processes the game image through an external card.

Set Up Kmbox Net

Network-based mouse control over Ethernet.

The Kmbox Net is connected via Ethernet and is the most reliable choice for many users. In a 2-PC setup you plug one LAN cable into your gaming PC and the other into the Kurex PC, and you run the setup on the Kurex PC.

1. Install the driver

  1. Unpack the driver package

    Download the matching Kmbox Net driver and extract the archive.

  2. Run the installer

    Start WCHUSBNIC.exe as administrator and click Install.

  3. Find the new network adapter

    Open the Windows network settings. A new adapter now shows up.

2. Configure IPv4 manually

Right-click the new adapter → Properties → select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)Properties. Enter these values:

3. Connect the manufacturer tool

  1. Launch the tool

    Download the Kmbox Net Manufacturer Tool, extract the archive and start KmboxNetTool.exe as administrator. If the window shows lots of question marks, no problem, that's normal.

  2. Enter the connection data

    Set the IP to 192.168.2.188. Port and UUID are printed on your Kmbox display.

  3. Connect

    Click the big Connect button (green arrow). Once the connection is up, continue with your mouse data.

4. VID & PID of your mouse

For the Kmbox to pipe your mouse through, you need its VID and PID. Find them in Windows under Control Panel → Devices and Printers: right-click your mouse → Properties → Hardware → Details → "Hardware IDs".

  1. Enter the values

    Type VID and PID into the tool, then click the [VID/PID??] button to apply them.

  2. Plug the mouse into the Kmbox

    Connect your mouse to the Kmbox, it should work exactly as before.

  3. Clean up

    You can delete the downloaded Kmbox setup files afterwards, they aren't needed anymore.

5. Final step in the Kurex loader

  • In the Kurex loader pick Kmbox Net as input.
  • Click the settings icon and enter the connection data (IP, Port, UUID).
  • Optional: change the Kmbox MAC address once via TMAC to set a fresh identity.
  • Use a cleanup tool to clear old USB/hardware leftovers in Windows.
Done

If your cursor behaves normally and the loader shows the Kmbox in green, the hardware setup is complete.

Arduino + Host Shield (1-PC)

Low-cost setup with HID firmware.

The classic Arduino setup with a USB host shield is cheap and fully sufficient for 1-PC use. Requirement: your Arduino is already flashed with an HID firmware (e.g. Hidra).

  1. Connect Arduino to the PC

    Use a data cable, not a pure charging cable, otherwise the board won't be recognized correctly.

  2. Plug the mouse into the host shield

    From now on the mouse runs on the host shield instead of the PC. Leave it plugged in permanently.

  3. Pick the input in the loader

    Start Kurex and choose Arduino as input. If you use Hidra firmware, also click the keyboard icon and pick Hidra there.

Firmware tip

Single PC: Hidra firmware. Dual PC with Arduino: prefer Xenmouse or a comparable firmware made for 2-PC setups.

Set Up Makcu

Flexible, 1-PC or 2-PC.

The Makcu is wired slightly differently depending on the setup. For a pure 1-PC setup it's enough to connect the Makcu and the serial USB ports to your main PC.

Cabling Makcu (classic)

  1. USB 1 → from Makcu to the XIM or target device.
  2. USB 2 → from Makcu to the Kurex PC.
  3. USB 3 → from Makcu to the mouse.
  4. Target device (e.g. XIM) → to the main/gaming PC.

Cabling M-Kit variant

  1. Main → XIM.
  2. Serial → to the Kurex PC (or main PC for 1-PC / console).
  3. USB mouse → to the mouse.
  4. XIM → to the main PC.

In the loader pick Makcu as input afterwards. Detailed diagrams and updates are in the makxd.com Discord.

M-Kit & DMA Hardware

High-end path with capture or Phoenix DMA setup.

The M-Kit is the no-compromise variant: complete separation between game PC and Kurex PC, ideally combined with a DMA card (e.g. Phoenix) and a capture card.

Firmware recommendation

  • 1-PC: use Hidra firmware.
  • 2-PC: Xenmouse firmware or comparable dual-PC firmware.

Configure the capture card

There are two ways to get the capture card image into Kurex:

Option 1, Directly through Kurex

  1. In the Kurex loader, pick Capture Card as input in the General tab.
  2. Set FPS and resolution to the highest values your card runs stably.

Option 2, Via OBS

  1. Install OBS Studio.
  2. Add the capture card as a source.
  3. Make sure NV12 or YUY2 is supported as a color format.
  4. Set the target FPS and save the profile.
  5. Open Kurex and run the OBS preview in fullscreen.

XIM Matrix & Zen (Console)

For console setups with mouse & keyboard.

If you want to use Kurex AI on console, you need an XIM Matrix or a Zen, plus a compatible controller that stays connected.

  • Console and PC need different XIM/Zen configs, you create the right one once yourself.
  • In a 1-PC setup you simply plug XIM/Zen into your main PC and connect the serial USB there as well.
  • For a console setup you use the Makcu or M-Kit cabling as described above.

In the Kurex loader you then pick the input matching your concrete hardware (e.g. Makcu).

Capture-Card Workflow

Get a stable game image into Kurex.

A capture card makes sure your game image gets from the gaming or console system to the Kurex PC with minimal delay. Look for a card with low latency and support for NV12/YUY2.

Quick check

  • Connect the capture card via HDMI to the source PC or console.
  • Plug the USB side of the card into the Kurex PC.
  • In the Kurex loader or in OBS, check that the card delivers the right format and target FPS.
  • Drag the preview to fullscreen so Kurex gets a clean frame.

Download Kurex AI

Download the loader for step 12.

Download Kurex AI Loader.exe and save it to your Kurex working folder from step 04 (next to your other setup files).

Important

Always run the loader as administrator. Otherwise permissions for capture and input components are missing.

Initial Configuration

Choose the right AI model, input and runtime.

Once you are logged in to the Kurex loader, three main selectors are available. They define how Kurex "reads" your game and how your input is passed on.

Which AI model?

The other models work in most cases too, feel free to test which one runs most stably for you.

Which input?

  • With external hardware: pick the device you actually use (Kmbox Net, Makcu, Ferrum, …).
  • Without external device: software-based inputs like Software, Logitech, Interception or M2B are available. M2B works in virtually every game, Interception may be blocked in some titles.

Which runtime?

Once all three fields are set, click Start.

In-Game Tuning & Settings

Test tracking, smoothness and keybinds.

Click the settings icon in the loader and first carry over your in-game mouse and sensitivity values. Then it's worth testing in a quiet environment, ideally in a training map or range.

  • Watch the tracking behavior and tune as needed.
  • If the aim shakes or "jitters", reduce Strength in small steps.
  • Play with FOV values, that controls the detection radius.
  • Save your own config at the end, so you can reload it any time.
Ready

If the tracking looks calm and predictable, your setup is ready to play. If problems remain, the next chapter takes over.

Troubleshooting

Solutions for the most common issues.

Before you open a ticket: 90 % of all cases can be solved with the steps below. If your question isn't answered here, feel free to reach out in the support channel.

Login & license

Error: "HWID does not match"

Your hardware changed since the last login. Contact support on Discord for an HWID reset. Note: a reset is only available every three days.

Error: "Signature verification failed (timestamp too old)"

Your Windows system time is wrong. Open Settings → Time & Language → Date & Time and turn on automatic sync. Then trigger a manual sync once.

SSL error during login

Briefly connect via VPN (e.g. Proton VPN) and try the login again. Once you are logged in, you can disable the VPN.

Kurex crashes on login
  • Delete setup.cfg from the Kurex folder.
  • Ensure a stable internet connection.
  • Test the login once with an active VPN (e.g. Windscribe).
  • Disable firewall, antivirus and any proxies.
  • Open CMD and run ipconfig /flushdns.
  • Clear the Nvidia cache.
  • Last resort: reinstall Windows via USB.

DLL & GPU errors

Error: "opencv_world4110.dll" or other DLLs not found

The CUDA files were not extracted into the right folder. Go back to step 03 and make sure all DLLs sit directly inside the CUDA\v12.8\bin folder. For other DLL errors: cleanly reinstall Visual C++ and DirectX from step 02.

Error: "No Nvidia GPU found"
  • Update the Nvidia driver.
  • Check that the GPU shows up in Device Manager.
  • Uninstall or disable integrated GPUs.
  • If that doesn't help: reset Windows.
Kurex starts but crashes occasionally
  • Disable firewall and antivirus completely.
  • Don't use modified Windows versions.
  • You need full admin rights, not a local account, but a proper administrator account.
  • The user name should be a single word (e.g. MYPC).
  • Clear the Nvidia cache.
  • If nothing helps: reinstall Windows via USB.

Input & hardware issues

M2B error
  • Disable Hyper-V and Secure Boot.
  • Close all unnecessary background processes.
  • If nothing helps: switch Windows version.
Kmbox Net hangs on connect
  • Endless "Connecting": double-check the connection data, use Ethernet (no Wi-Fi!).
  • Freezes just before connecting: verify the data again, try a different USB port.
Arduino Hidra errors / crashes

In a dual-PC setup with Arduino: try Kmbox B+ as the connection mode. In single PC: switch the Hidra setting in the loader to Basic. If aim doesn't respond after start, hit the Reconnect button in the Information tab.

Aimbot doesn't work
  • Run the game in borderless / windowed fullscreen.
  • Check in the menu that aimbot is enabled and a keybind is set.
  • Switch the capture method from DXGI to GDI.
  • On older GPUs swap FP16 for FP32.

Performance & FPS

Aim shakes & less than 100 FPS in the info tab
  • In-game: performance mode and low graphics.
  • Reduce aimbot Strength until the image is calm.
  • End unnecessary processes.
  • Drag Kurex onto the monitor you actually play on.
  • Set FOV below 128 and, if your system can take it, use DXGI.
  • Last resort: reinstall Windows via USB.
Kurex uses too much CPU/GPU
  • Disable hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling in Windows and reboot.
  • In the Misc tab: set capture method to GDI and disable multithreading.
  • If the GPU is still overloaded: enable Cap GPU Power, note that aim accuracy can drop slightly.
FPS capped at 30 or 60

In the Nvidia graphics settings, disable the Background Application FPS limiter.

Stuttering & low FPS in general
  • In-game: performance mode + low graphics.
  • Stop unnecessary background processes.
  • Windows: hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling off.
  • Remove the integrated GPU entirely.
  • Switch the capture method (DXGI ↔ GDI).
  • Drag Kurex onto the main monitor.
  • Keep FOV below 128.
General issues with Kurex
  • Delete all configs.
  • Reinstall Kurex.
  • Go through the other troubleshooting points in order.

CMD Repair Commands

When Windows itself is the problem.

These commands help bring an unhealthy Windows back into shape. Always run CMD as administrator.

Check and repair system files

Optimization

More FPS, less latency, step by step.

Nvidia Control Panel

In the Nvidia Control Panel you can deliberately remove latency. For Kurex and your game set Low Latency Mode to Ultra, Power Management to Maximum Performance and disable VSync both globally and in the game profile.

Windows optimizations

  • Close everything not related to Kurex or your game (optional but noticeable).
  • Set the power plan to High Performance or "Ultimate Performance", your system can draw power now.
  • Set Kurex and your game to High Performance under Settings → System → Display → Graphics.
  • Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling: off while playing, on in the general optimizations, testing pays off.

Free up CPU cores

Via msconfigBoot → Advanced options you can set the number of CPU cores used to the maximum your CPU supports. This especially helps with sudden FPS drops and stabilizes the AI pipeline latency.

Tweak carefully

Change one thing at a time and test. That way you immediately notice which step really helps, and which doesn't.
